We started this company for selfish reasons. We did it because there is not a delicious, dairy-free alternative to cheese currently out on the US market suitable for vegans and lactose intolerant/dairy-allergic individuals.
Almost without fail people who want to go from vegetarian to vegan are held back by one thing - cheese. If there was a really delicious alternative that melted and performed like the dairy cheeses, there would be a lot more vegans in the world. I fell into that category myself. The hardest thing for me to give up was the cheese – I certainly missed the melted mozzarella on a slice of pizza or blue cheese dressing on a fresh salad. Other vegan and lactose intolerant friends have expressed the same longing for a delicious, dairy-free alternative. I have tried all of the vegan cheeses currently sold in the US and none of them did very well in the taste or texture department and had practically given up on finding a delicious alternative.
As luck would have it, some friends of mine traveled to Europe and they raved about the flavor and quality of the vegan cheeses available there. In order for people like me (and hopefully people like you) to buy those cheeses, they had to be brought to the US. So in a fit of entrepreneurial inspiration, we set about to bring these products here for American consumers to enjoy.
We are sure you will like them as much as we do. Finally, there is a true replacement for dairy cheeses that will work (and more importantly) taste great in all your recipes.
